4 weeks through!

This was the end of 4 weeks, only 8 more treatments left. So now that I am almost through, I am finally getting around to telling more about the radiation experience.

I have been receiving treatments at the Knight Cancer Institute (Phil Knight- founder of Nike- has donated a lot of money to the cause ) in Beaverton. I go there M-F and the process takes about 30 minutes to complete. I am still handling the treatments well, the fatigue is starting to kick in, but doing well otherwise. I have the occasional day not feeling well, but most days feeling good. I'm still hungry.

A picture of the machine is below, and the whole thing rotates around my body delivering precise doses in all the right places.

The story of Todd's Terrible Tumor

This is the story of Todd's Terrible Tumor. On August 16, 2012 I was told that I have cancer. I found the tumor as I was lying in bed and could feel it in my lower right abdomen. I had a doctor's appointment already scheduled, so asked about it at that time. Numerous tests and doctor's visits later, they told me it was a rare cancer called retroperitoneal sarcoma. The treatment plan consists of 5.5 weeks of radiation and then surgery in December at the University of Washington Medical Center. This is the journal of my journey with cancer and beyond.
