Tumor Results

According to the pathology results...

Todd's tumor was completely removed! It was graded as a number "2" on a scale of 1-3. What this means is that the tumor is not slow growing, and not aggressive, but somewhere in between. We are curious to know the weight of it and the final size as it continued to grow during radiation.

What does this all mean? Depends on who you ask. While we like to be able to predict the future, the reality with cancer is that you can be diagnosed stage 4 and go on to live for 25 years, or you can be diagnosed stage 1 and die 2 years later.  This is what the support groups have taught us through meeting people who were told to go home and die and are still here and by meeting those currently dying who had been told they wouldn't have to worry about cancer again.

The reality is that Todd has a greater probability of living longer with the tumor completely out. You better believe we (or rather, I) jumped up and down on the bed when we received the news. We couldn't be happier with the results and have been so pleased with Dr. Mann and his surgical team.

  1. Personally, I'm still waiting for some flatulation results! Any shifts in the wind? Any pungent odors floating around. Some rumblings down under... Maybe a little Dutch oven action?
    Stephanie, yours don't count.
